Food Allergy Awareness Week helps shine a light on food allergy as a serious public health issue that affects 15 million Americans. In 2017, Food Allergy Awareness Week reached millions of people around the United States and beyond through FARE’s Food For Thought videos, social media, building lightings, news stories, and local outreach from volunteers like Lana.

Food Allergy Awareness Week kicks off on Sunday! You can shine a light on food allergies by raising awareness and encouraging others to honor Food Allergy Awareness Week from May 13 -19.

If you have been prescribed epinephrine, FARE recommends that you carry two epinephrine auto-injectors with you at all times to make sure you have quick access to this life-saving medication.

This spring, FARE is working with federal legislators and regulators to protect health and improve quality of life for individuals with food allergy.

FARE’s Food Allergy Heroes Walk is an incredible opportunity for families and individuals affected by food allergies to connect with each other, unite in a safe space, and celebrate their potential as changemakers for better outcomes for their children and loved ones.

In this guest blog post, food allergy mom Lydia Goldfine takes us inside FARE’s recent Research Retreat, which on April 13-14 gathered more than 130 scientists, clinicians, parent advocates, pharmaceutical industry representatives and government representatives for an annual meeting to discuss the future of food allergy research and patient perspectives.

Hello, my name is Mimi Hymel and I am a part of FARE’s Teen Advisory Group (TAG). I am allergic to tree nuts and recently outgrew my egg allergy. I know many others who have food allergies as well. It has inspired me to help others in my community with food allergies, and improve their quality of life.
