Behind the Scenes of “The Kitchen”
Part of FARE’s Ready to Act campaign, this PSA celebrates food allergy safety. Every day is a big game. Make sure you’re prepared in the kitchen.
What a difference a year makes.
From advocacy to action, FARE moves from urging Uber to change its Super Bowl ad last year to debuting its own Super-Bowl timed PSA, demonstrating how to use humor without diminishing the experiences of patients, caregivers, and families.
The Kitchen is the first element of a bold strategy for 2025 aimed at raising awareness of food allergy as a disease—a silent, growing public health epidemic.
When it comes to food allergy safety, the real game plan is about good preparation and being ready to act. You can save a life!
Kai the Scene-Stealer
Jason has more experience being in front of the cameras, but Kai (and her pink Stanley cup) was the real star.
Play With Your Food
Did you notice the fruit on Jason and Kai’s cutting board looks like the diagram for planning a football play?
The Winning Team
Our cast and crew, gathered on set in New Jersey! Standing with Kai and Jason (center) is Melissa, Kai’s mom.
The Kitchen received in-kind support from PB5star.com.
Special thanks to Bergen Pickleball for the filming location!
We are raising public awareness of food allergy as a serious disease, using humor and creativity to spotlight an important issue while respecting the challenges faced by individuals and families every day.

We can’t always prevent the unexpected—but we can be ready to act.
Together, our powerful community is more than a diagnosis.
We’re a movement.
