For teens with food allergies, summer doesn’t always mean carefree and easy months at the end of a long school year. Instead, the season is defined by last-minute plans and impulsiveness, leaving little time to prepare for outings and hangouts. When living with food allergies, planning ahead is essential, ensuring that safe food, epinephrine, and an emergency plan are always at hand.
During the summer months, losing control over the daily set schedule established throughout the school year requires a lot of creative thinking and swift planning behind the scenes. Fortunately, with each summer of experience, any food-allergic teen can figure out a system that works for them, and this article is here to help you along! With practice, even the most diligent can take time to relax in the warm weather, something each of us greatly deserves.
