In 1998, the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, now Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), created Food Allergy Awareness Week to educate the public about food allergy, a potentially life-threatening disease. While we work to increase awareness and action on behalf of the food allergy community year-round, Food Allergy Awareness Week provides a special opportunity to shine a light on food allergies and anaphylaxis. About the Presenter
Alyssa Ackerman is the Associate Director of Constituent Engagement at Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) and plays a key role in the creation and implementation of FARE’s various awareness initiatives, including Be a PAL-entine, Safe for the Summer, Food Allergy Awareness Week, Back to School Safely and the Teal Pumpkin Project. She is focused on creating meaningful resources and initiatives to increase awareness on behalf of the food allergy community.
