Approximately 3-4% of adults, or 9 million Americans, live with potentially life-threatening food allergies. This webinar will discuss challenges faced by adults at work, at play, and in relationships. We will review strategies for engaging friends, family, food service personnel, and healthcare providers in order to live a safe and fulfilling life.

Presenter

Dr. Stephanie Leonard has been living with a life-threatening peanut allergy since childhood and has dedicated her career to helping others with food allergies live safe, happy and fulfilling lives. She is currently the director of the Food Allergy Center at Rady Children’s Hospital and is an assistant clinical professor at University of California, San Diego. She received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where she also did her Pediatric residency. She completed her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York under the mentorship of Hugh Sampson, one of the top leaders in food allergy. Dr. Leonard oversees clinical trials in food allergy treatment in children and conducts food allergy research. Her goal is to help find a cure for food allergy.
