FARECheck Training Receives Approval From ANAB
June 23, 2022 (McLean, VA) – Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) is proud to announce that the FARECheck training program has been approved by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB). This accreditation allows FARE to become the training provider for U.S. companies (restaurants, schools and any other food service entities) which conduct business in states and localities that require ANAB accredited training.
ANAB, founded in 1918, is a private, non-profit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standards and conformity assessment system. The organization provides a framework for fair standards development and quality conformity assessment systems and continually works to safeguard their integrity. While working in close collaboration with stakeholders from industry and government to identify and develop standards for national and global priorities, the organization brings together private- and public-sector experts and stakeholders to initiate collaborative standardization activities that respond to national priorities.
Recognizing the quality of the FARECheck training, ANAB found zero non-conformities with the training during its required audit, noting that only 2-3% of applicants come through the audit with this distinction. This accredited FARECheck Training course can be found on-demand through the Food Allergy Academy (www.foodallergyacademy.org) or it can be live-instructor led. Currently, FARE offers four courses on-demand to focus on K-12 schools, colleges/universities, restaurants and catering operations. FARE also hosts FARECheck Instructor training throughout the year to train qualified individuals to provide the training live to their staff.
FARE staff member, Tiffany Leon, MS, RD, led the efforts for FARE in this accreditation process over the past year. As FARE’s Sr. Manager Training and Professional Programs, Tiffany supports the development of educational materials and training programs for key target audiences including registered dietitians or other healthcare professionals, commercial foodservice operators and, importantly, those with food allergies.
Please join us in congratulating FARE, Tiffany, and her team on this great achievement.
