FARE Staffer Anita Roach to Serve as Faculty at 2023 AAAAI
August 5, 2022 (McLean, VA) – Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) is proud to announce that Anita Roach, MS, Vice President of Community Programs and Education, has been selected to serve as a faculty member at the 2023 AAAAI (American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology) Annual Scientific Meeting to be held in San Antonio, Texas in February. Anita’s selection recognizes her experience in the field of food allergy and her accomplishments in developing and managing patient-centered research and programs.
At AAAAI 2023, Anita will help lead a workshop on health disparities and inequities, focusing on practical applications to address these important issues in a clinical setting. The workshop will be an interactive, problem-based learning session that will aid allergists/immunologists in developing the skills and concepts needed to care for patients from disadvantaged, vulnerable, and/or under-resourced populations. As an instructor, Anita will join a multidisciplinary panel of physicians, social workers, patient advocates, and public health specialists to provide a holistic view of the needs of these patient populations.
At FARE, Anita leads education and health equity efforts, bringing together diverse stakeholder to address challenges, identify key outcomes, and develop data-driven solutions for access to care issues critical to the food allergic community. Anita is also skilled at communicating complex and technical information to patient and professional communities and has several publications in the Journal of Clinical Immunology in Practice, the Journal of Arthritis & Rheumatology and Sleep Health.
