FARE Announces Teal Hearts Society, Honors Loyal Donors and Community Members
Membership recognizes commitment of individuals who have supported FARE’s mission for three or more years
McLean, Va. (August 27, 2020)—FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education), the world’s leading non-governmental organization engaged in food allergy advocacy and the largest private funder of food allergy research, is excited to announce the Teal Hearts Society. The society recognizes donor commitment to supporting FARE’s mission in any amount for three or more years.
“During these ever-challenging times, loyalty is appreciated more than ever,” said Lisa Gable, chief executive officer of FARE. “To recognize those who are so committed to FARE and the future of food allergy, it is my pleasure to welcome and congratulate this group of extraordinary givers as members of the Teal Hearts Society. The steadfast generosity of our community truly drives everything we do at FARE, and the impact is considerable.”
With new medical breakthroughs on the horizon and growing attention from major players in the food and beverage industry and key legislators on Capitol Hill, momentum continues to build around the country and across the globe towards better understanding and support for those impacted by potentially life-threatening food allergies. For their contributions to FARE and the food allergy community, members of the Teal Hearts Society will receive acknowledgment and recognition of service at FARE events, exclusive outreach and organization updates, and specialized communications throughout the year.
“FARE’s progress is steady, and we are always pushing harder to meet and exceed our goals,” added Gable. “The strong desire to support and contribute to our mission brings new voices to the table, powering collaborations to advance new treatments, diagnostics and prevention strategies as well as education, training and advocacy to improve food allergy management.”
In 2018, FARE set a five-year fundraising goal of $200 million dollars to support families living with food allergies and educate all communities about the disease. To date, the organization has raised $80 million of this goal and continues to charge forward, driving solutions for all in need. Donor contributions serve as the catalyst for innovation, discovery and, ultimately, better options for food-allergic people and their families. FARE is grateful for the support the community has provided and excited about what we can achieve!
