FARE Announces Formation of Scientific Advisory Council
May 17, 2023 (McLean, VA) – FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) announces, in support of FARE’s mission, the formation of the FARE Scientific Advisory Council (SAC). This esteemed forum of subject matter experts, who are working at the leading edge of diverse disciplines, will review recent progress and identify innovative approaches that can be applied to food allergy investigations to help guide FARE’s future investments in clinical and preclinical research.
The Scientific Advisory Council met for the first time on May 1 to gather information and recommend strategies for amplifying the scale, scope, and impact of food allergy research. The Council’s work also seeks to elevate food allergy by focusing greater scientific and public attention on this increasingly prevalent, life-threatening disease.
“The formation of the Scientific Advisory Council is the first time FARE has brought together a group of this caliber to truly move the research needle forward,” says Sung Poblete, RN, PhD, CEO of FARE. “These exceptional advisors will help FARE generate novel research opportunities that will engage talented investigators to address key knowledge gaps and devise new solutions to treat food allergy and related conditions.”
As part of today’s research focus during Food Allergy Awareness Week, we honor and celebrate the healthcare providers and investigators who are making a difference for our food allergy community, with special acknowledgement to the members of the Scientific Advisory Council who have joined FARE’s efforts to advance food allergy research.
