Inaugural Courage at Congress: FARE's Advocacy Day to Fight Food Allergies 2020
FARE’s Advocacy Day to Fight Food Allergies
Why We Went to the Capitol
The food allergy community is at 33 million people—and growing rapidly. Yet, the federal government spends just 19 cents per person on research.
We descended on D.C. in March to change this and show our community’s strength, build awareness of food allergy issues on Capitol Hill, and motivate legislators to support the expansion of research by co-sponsoring the FASTER Act (H.R. 2117).
Our Agenda: Exhaustive…and Exhilarating
A jam-packed agenda, including:
- The FARE State of the Union: Where are we going in 2020 and beyond?
- A food allergy research update
- FARE’s progress on its legislative agenda, including the FASTER Act
- Attendee networking sessions
The event began at 4 p.m. EST on Monday, March 2, and concluded on Wednesday, March 4 with our Capitol Hill blitz.
