In 2018, FARE is awarding more than $104,000 for 42 projects through our Community Outreach Award Program. In 25 states and in Mexico, FARE-Recognized Support Group Leaders and FARE Food Allergy Heroes Walk Chair volunteers are spearheading initiatives designed to educate others about the severity of food allergies and raise awareness in their local communities.

Applications for Community Outreach Awards are peer-reviewed by a selection committee and awarded based on community need, achievability of project objectives, demonstration of collaboration, anticipated community impact and benefit, as well as cost efficiency.

Additionally, FARE is awarding over $11,500 in stipends to 30 FARE-Recognized Support Groups across the country and Mexico. Support Groups serve an integral role in carrying out FARE’s mission by hosting meetings, forums, and events to help families living with food allergies feel safe, included, and supported. If you are looking for one in your local area, check here

FARE is able to provide funding for these valuable community initiatives and support group stipends thanks to our generous donors and funds raised through the FARE Food Allergy Heroes Walk.
