Monica Sloan

Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer

As Executive Assistant to FARE’s CEO, Monica is the primary support to the CEO on everything administrative, and supports and advises the CEO on projects, processes, and business-related activities. She serves as the gatekeeper to the CEO and collaborates with internal and external groups, including FARE’s Board of Directors and critical FARE constituents.
 
Monica has extensive experience as an executive assistant to C-suite executives, having worked for over 30 years in a variety of nonprofit and union environments, including the American Federation of Teachers, Virginia Theological Seminary, and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she served as a human resources assistant at the AFT for seven years. Early in her career, she was a court reporter and also a transcriber for the U.S. House of Representatives Office of Official Reporters.
 
Monica received a BA in Union Leadership and Administration from The National Labor College and is certified as a Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
