Anita Roach, MS
As Senior Vice President, Education and Health, Ms. Roach is responsible for shaping and executing FARE's strategic vision for education, support, health, and engagement programs benefiting the 33 million Americans with food allergy, including our FARE Neighborhoods Initiative, food allergy management in schools, patient and caregiver education, and professional development through the Food Allergy Academy. At FARE, Ms. Roach has served as an Invited Instructor for the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology and the World Allergy Organization Annual Meetings in 2023 and 2025, a panelist at several NIAID workshops, and Principal Investigator of a PCORI Award. She also led the first-ever FDA Patient-Focused Drug Development meeting on food allergy for the Food Allergy Collaborative.
With 15 years of experience, Ms. Roach has a proven track record of designing and executing patient-centered education and engagement programs. Before joining FARE, she led a team at the National Sleep Foundation to develop and disseminate public health expert guidance on sleep behaviors. Ms. Roach managed a 30-member Medical Scientific Advisory Council at the Lupus Foundation of America and expanded the research grant program by 83%. She also served as a Principal Investigator on a $500,000 CDC-funded national awareness campaign for the Interstitial Cystitis Association.
Anita is highly skilled in communicating complex, technical information to patient and professional communities. Her publications include articles in The Journal of Clinical Immunology: In Practice, Arthritis & Rheumatology, and Sleep Health. Anita holds a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Georgetown University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
