The Be a PAL educational awareness program is designed to provide educators with information for teaching students what food allergies are and how to help friends who have food allergies.

Anyone can be a PAL by following these five easy steps:

1. Never take food allergies lightly.
2. Don’t share food with friends who have food allergies.
3. Wash your hands after eating.
4. Ask what your friends are allergic to, and help them avoid it.
5. If a friend who has food allergies becomes ill, get help immediately!

A PAL Hero is someone whose actions help prevent a serious allergic reaction or even save a life. Schools can honor PAL Heroes with special recognition and award certificates.

Bring the PAL program to your school today! You may download this reproducible brochure and PAL Hero award certificate for students. Please let FAAN know about your PALs as well.
