Reporting an Allergic Reaction
 
If you've had an allergic reaction to a food that should be safe according to the label, do the following to report the reaction.
 
  • Save any remaining product. Wrap it carefully and label it so it won't be eaten. Store it in the freezer if it is perishable.
  • Call the manufacturer to report the reaction. Have the package in front of you when you call, and write down the name of the person with whom you speak.
  • Call the FDA district office for your geographic area and file a complaint with the Consumer Complaint Coordinator. Contact information for the FDA Consumer Complaint Coordinators is listed online here.
  • Ask for a complaint number. Write down the name of the person with whom you speak and the complaint number. Call back in a few weeks to find out the status of the complaint.

RE: Knorr Kosher Soup Mix – Chicken Vegetable Flavor with Pasta

Unilever United States, Inc. is voluntarily recalling Knorr® Kosher Soup Mix – Chicken Vegetable Flavor with Pasta, imported from Israel, because it contains undeclared egg.

The product was distributed nationwide. There have been no reported cases of illness. The situation has been investigated and corrected.

The product is identified asKnorr® Kosher Soup Mix – Chicken Vegetable Flavor with Pasta (imported from Israel)packed in a 2.18-oz (62 g) pouch (bag). The UPC 4800170660 is located on the back of the pouch under the bar code. The recall includes all “BEST-IF-USED-BY” dates. The product was manufactured in Israel by Unilever Bestfoods Israel Ltd.

Consumers who have the Knorr® Kosher Soup Mix – Chicken Vegetable Flavor with Pasta product are asked to discard it and call (877) 270-7412, which is operational 24 hours a day, for information on the recall and to request a full refund. In addition, a consumer services representative is available between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. EDT.

This recall involves only one product, Knorr® Kosher Soup Mix – Chicken Vegetable Flavor with Pasta. Therefore, no other Knorr® products, including the following, are affected by this recall: Knorr® brand kosher soup mixes, Knorr® non-kosher soup mixes, Knorr® classic sauces, pasta sauces, recipe mixes, Knorr® bouillon cubes and granulate, gravies, and Knorr® /Lipton® sides (Fiesta, Cajun, Asian, Italian, Pasta, Rice and Sides Plus™ Veggies.)

Unilever United States, Inc. has funded a mailing to FAAN members to bring this situation to your attention.
