FARE Hosts Largest Courage at Congress Event

From March 4-6th, FARE welcomed more than 250 advocates from 42 states including first-time representatives from Alabama, Alaska, and Hawaii to our annual “Courage at Congress: Advocate for a Cure” legislative fly-in.

This year’s fly-in was our biggest and most successful ever as advocates heard from Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost (D-FL-10), who has life-threatening food allergies, about his legislation to cap the cost of epinephrine auto-injectors, H.R. 6965, and senior members of the Food and Drug Administration.

“Years from now, we envision a future where food allergy families can dine at any restaurant in America without fear, are able to fly across the country secure knowing that epinephrine delivery devices are on board every plane and aren’t paying astronomical prices for life-saving medicine.”

On Wednesday, March 6, advocates visited more than 200 congressional offices and met with 41 elected officials. We secured four new cosponsors for the ADINA Act and added three members to the Congressional Food Allergy Research Caucus.
